Cobalt Based Alloys

Cobalt-based alloys are materials derived from compositions of cobalt-chromium, cobalt-chromium-tungsten, or cobalt-chromium-molybdenum ternaries. They have excellent magnetic properties, wear resistance, high-temperature strength, and corrosion resistance. These alloys have very high melting points, superior thermal fatigue, hot corrosion resistance, and weldability; all traits that make cobalt-based alloys ideal for challenging environments involving high-temperature and acids.

There are a wide variety of cobalt-based alloys on the market, and each offers different benefits depending on their final application. These alloys are commonly used in industries such as aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, petrochemical processing, and dental and orthopedic implants. They are also used in situations where oxidization is a concern and high-strength is critical.

Engineered Alloys offers a variety of cobalt-based alloys to meet our clients’ needs. Contact us today to request a quote and learn more about our products!
